The journal employs a "double-blind" review process. All submissions accepted by the editor for the review process are sent anonymously to two or more reviewers who are experts in the field and have no conflict of interest. Those submissions which are conditionally accepted are then forwarded to the author who after accomplishing suggested revisions is expected to respond to the reviews in a separate letter addressed to the editor. It is assumed that authors who submit their manuscripts to Polish American Studies are committed to complete the revision process, which leads to publication in the journal.

Editors will not review works previously published in any form or ghost-written, material under consideration elsewhere, or unsolicited book reviews. All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes, which will be subsequently published in the journal.
